Actor, writer and director, Desiree Akhavan just joined Creep 2, the sequel to the cult horror film that debuted at SXSW in 2014. Akahavan will star opposite Mark Duplass in the production from Blumhouse and the Duplass Brothers.
Akhavan received a Best First Screenplay nomination at the 2015 Indie Spirit Awards for her feature directorial debut Appropriate Behaviour. Akhavan is also known for her appearance in season 4 of HBO’s Girls and is now currently working on The Bisexual, a new comedy series for The UK’s Channel 4.
According to Deadline, Akhavan has said about the role, ““I love Creep and couldn’t be happier about crashing the sequel,” she continued “Patrick and Mark are inspiring, generous & crazy smart collaborators.”
Produced by Carolyn Craddock, Blumhouse’s Jason Blum is executive producing Creep 2 alongside Mark Duplass, Jay Duplass, Mel Eslyn, Chris Donlon and Josh Braun.
